The Invasive Species
The first-to-market line of sneakers with accent leathers crafted from repurposed invasive species, including lionfish, carp fish and Florida Burmese pythons.
Lionfish causes the extinction of plants and animals in coral reefs, therefore reducing critical ocean biodiversity and destroying ocean habitats; every P448 Lionfish pair protects up to 70,000 native reef fish.
Carp have a ravenous appetite for plants and can quickly reduce and eliminate large quantities of aquatic vegetation from water bodies, which can lead to the alteration or loss of habitat for native species, reduction in food availability for waterfowl and increased occurrences of algal blooms.
Burmese pythons are a rapidly breeding invasive species in the Florida Everglades, quickly diminishing entire native wildlife populations of rabbits, foxes, raccoons, bobcats and more. With every three pairs of Bali Pythons, we're able to protect more than 160 native animals in the Everglades.

The leather fibers are combined with synthetic fibers and woven together in a process called ‘water fusion’.
The result of various finishing phases, including pigmentation, is a single material roll. RE:new leather’s production process drastically cuts back on waste levels, reducing environmental impact by 80% compared to traditional leather-making.

Vegan Leather
The recipe for our P448 Vegan Apple styles calls for a base of Italian-made grained apple leather.
Our 100% vegan sneaker capsule made of appleskin, which begins as juicy apples growing in the sun-drenched orchards of South Tyrol, Italy. Approximately 30,000 tons of waste from apple cultivation and processing gets transformed into the materials that create a durable, leather-like material.
Vegan apple has a lower CO2 impact than other leathers. And, of course, it’s cruelty-free.

The dustbags are placed directly in the direct-to-consumer shipping box, also made of 100% recycled material and reused up to three times.
